It all began in a little shop in Shoreditch ...
Daniel Ashley originally trained as a Chef and in Hotel Management back in 1988.
From there Daniel worked at the famous Ashby's in the Roman Road, he went on to travel and work all over the globe for more than ten years.
Daniel has worked in kitchens from Ireland to Australia, his experience is vast and includes skills from fish mongery and butchery to Executive Head Chef. His knowledge and many travels have influenced his cooking and creativity.
In 2000 Daniel met Jackie, his life and business partner. Jackie so happened to be an Estate Agent at the time, and in true London style she wasted no time in selling Daniel the idea that he should open a shop. BLT was born, Big Loaded and Tasty became famous in Shoreditch with its queues stretching around the block and its array of regulars from Hoxton to Liverpool Street. One shop became two: BLT became famous for its restaurant standard sandwiches, soups, roast dinners and selection of international wraps, with more than 900 customers passing through the doors each day.
Now based in Epping High Road (just behind Church's Butchers) Daniel and Jackie have recently worked with many corporate and private clients, including bars, restaurants, nightclubs and venues across London and Essex.
Daniel and Jackie's experience is extensive and this is reflected in their food, creativity and event management skills.
